Description
This single malt is characterized by its dark peat body, in Scots Gaelic Caoran means ‘Peat Ember’ and the reason for choosing to name this whisky ‘Caoran’ is because in the by gone days the Glenfiddich malt men would use greater amounts of peat as there was coal shortages. The result of this brings an earthy peaty smokiness perfectly complimenting the soft fruity Glenfiddich characteristics. Aromas of strong summer berries, honey and sweet apples. Tasting strongly of earthy peat smoke, mineral salt and cinnamon. The ending is short, subtle saltiness and smokey. Perfect dram to warm you for winter.
