Johnnie Walker Black Label 100 years of the striding man

Released to celebrate 100 years of the Striding Man in 2008, this special edition 12 year old Johnnie Walker was placed in a striking black bottle and presentation box frame. The iconic square bottle makes it one of the world’s most recognisable whiskies and history states that between 1906 and 1909 John Walkers grandsons introduced the colour names which the iconic bottles still bear to this day. There is a blend of around 40 whiskies to make up this special malt creating a pleasantly sweet and tangy scent on the nose of citrus peels, vanilla and cinnamon. The taste is creamy, with exotic fruits and a peppery background appearing revealing an oak bitterness at the end. The finish is medium to long and is bittersweet.
