Macallan Edition no.6

The Macallan Edition No.6 is the sixth and final edition in the series and is inspired by the natural marvels of the famed River Spey which flows through the Macallan estate and is globally known for the mighty Atlantic Salmon. Each and every cask of The Macallan is aged before being hand selected for use by their skilled whisky producers. The Macallan whisky maker Steven Bremner hand picked each of the five different barrel types in both American and European oak which were used to create Edition No.6. He was inspired by the river and the surrounding area. These casks were chosen to create a flavour profile that will provide a diverse experience, beginning with the appealing rich brass natural colour, followed by layers of aroma with fresh fruits, nutmeg, ginger, chocolate, toffee and oak and finally a deep flavour of plums, sweet orange, cinnamon, nutmeg and oak. The finish is long with the returning flavours of fruit, spices and toasted oats- simply divine.
